Sometimes I wonder what a thing might say if it could talk. That’s the case with this vintage painter’s drop cloth. The paint splatters have created its own texture. So authentic & rare.

This bag features a spacious open-tote design with three pockets to help keep things organized. It’s fully lined with two interior pockets, one with a secure zipper. The lining is a recycled men’s olive green & tan plaid shirt, interior pocket linings are scraps from pervious projects. The tote front detail was the waistband from a wrap skirt I deconstructed.

For extra unique style I choose the back of the bag to be different from the front. It’s a quilted lined fabric in a dull sage tone. The back patches are a playful mixed of earthtone patterns with a brown vintage zipper section. I added a convenient key ring holder, rich brown leather top handles & a magnetic closure.

This product was consciously made to reduce our footprint & support my mission to be uncommon.

  • RURAL ROOTS + SLOW STYLE ART

I’m a self-taught artist from Minnesota-you betcha!! I enjoy taking discarded materials & creating them into new means of usefulness. My choice of medium is tractor & bicycle inner tubes along with found objects of interest.

My art is a slow style jewelry & handbag atelier founded in 2008, my focus is ethically crafted in timeless silhouettes that contain boldness & driven by my passion to be uncommon. I don’t do cookie-cutter!

All my styles are 100% handmade to be minimal waste-meaning only small amounts of the inner tube are left over after cutting, sewing & assembling my work. I believe that having a propose in creating my art softens the carbon footprint we leave behind. Together we can make a conscious choice to stand for our values.

    Black is my happy color!
